In 'Design and develop learning programs', you will learn about conceptualising, designing, developing and reviewing learning programs to meet an identified need for a group of learners. You will achieve this by completing a project that is based on a request from an Optimal Learning Solutions client.

Performance Criteria

Project information

'Use training packages and accredited courses to meet client needs' is about using training packages and accredited courses as tools to support industry, organisation and individual competency development needs. In this project you will work with an Optimal Learning Solutions client and select a training package and units of competency to meet their needs.

Performance Criteria

Project information

'Design and develop e-learning resources' is about the design and development of e-learning resources. This unit emphasises the clarity and structure of the learning resource and how the technology supports this, not the technology itself.

The skills covered include planning, researching, designing and developing an e-learning resource and finalising it based on a review process.

Performance Criteria

Project information

'Plan, organise and deliver group-based learning' describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to plan, organise and deliver training for individuals within a group.

In this project you will be using documentation to plan and organise delivery of training to an OLS client, and reviewing the performance of trainer Peter Farnelli as he delivers training to a group.

Performance Criteria

Project information

'Plan, organise and facilitate learning in the workplace' describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to plan, organise and facilitate learning for individuals in a workplace.

Learning through work may contribute to an educational outcome, such as a qualification or Statement of Attainment; and/or a work outcome, or personal outcome.

Performance Criteria

Project information

'Facilitating e-learning' involves supporting learners in a flexible environment by using information and communication technology (ICT).

The skills covered include planning and delivering activities, and establishing and managing interaction in an environment mediated by technology.

Performance Criteria

Project information

In 'Plan assessment activities and processes' you will learn about planning and organising assessment activities and processes. This can be for either a learning and assessment pathway or for the purpose of skills recognition.

The unit will help you identify the assessment requirements, develop an assessment plan and organise the arrangements for the assessment. You will achieve this by completing a project that is based on an assessment request made by an OLS client.

Performance Criteria

Project information

In 'Assess competence', you will learn about the process of assessing a candidate for competence. This may be for a learning and assessment pathway or for skills recognition.

The unit will help you interpret collected evidence and make a decision on competence according to specific standards, rules of evidence and principles of assessment. You will complete a project based on an assessment request made by a client.

Performance Criteria

Project information

'Participate in assessment validation' specifies the competence required to participate in an assessment validation process.

Validation is a process involving assessors working together to review, compare and evaluate their assessment process and their assessment outcomes. Validation is part of an RTO's quality system and is undertaken to improve the quality of the assessment process. You will be able to practise the process by validating some assessment instruments in the project.

Performance Criteria

Project information

'Design and develop assessment tools' describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to design and develop assessment tools.

You'll learn how to interpret the evidence requirements of the specified unit of competency, analyse the assessment context, identify assessment methods which most effectively meet the requirements, and design and develop the documentation to support the collection of evidence.
